Places of Interest
Lisbon.
The Capital of Portugal is a vibrant, cosmopolitan and creative city. It provides panoramic views over the region and
offers pavement cafés, riverside restaurants and shops.(Approx. 50 minutes drive)
Óbidos.
Is considered to be one of the jewels in the crown of Portugal heritage. The walled town encloses the castle and whitewashed
houses opening onto narrow cobbled streets, restaurants and shops. During the year Óbidos is the setting for numerous exhibitions,
amongst which are classic and popular music festivals. (Approx 15 minute drive)
Peniche.
Is picturesque fishing village is renowned for its charming and inexpensive seafood restaurants. The harbour and marina
offer pleasant walks and the water slide park offers fun for all. (Approx 30 minute drive)
Baleal.
Baleal has some of the best beaches and is popular with surfers. The village also offers some of the best views across
the Atlantic towards the Berlenga Islands. (Approx 30 minute drive)
Berlenga Islands.
These have been designated a reservation area and are stunningly located a few miles offshore from Peniche. As well as
offering some of the best diving in this area of Portugal it is a haven for bird watchers and those who appreciate beautiful
fauna and wildlife.
Caldas da Rainha.
This local town is particularly famed for its spa. The old town contains many historic and architecturally fine buildings,
a large and beautiful park and a daily fruit and vegetable market selling fresh produce from the surrounding area. (Approx
10 minute drive)
Foz do Arelho.
Is a picturesque seaside town set in a great location overlooking the Óbidos Lagoon and the Atlantic coast. It has a
choice of beaches: the sheltered and child-safe beaches surrounding the Lagoon and surf beaches on the Atlantic. (Approx 20
minute drive)

It is also worth noting that the Algarve is approximately a 2.5 hour drive, making tourist attractions, such as Zoo Marine
and other water parks a potential day trip.
